Operative
Brethren was absorbed into the
Perennial Tradition
of Esotericism. The EMO UK practices the Egyptian Rite of Masonry, which is firmly rooted in the Art, Practices, Hierology and Mysticism of
Ancient Egypt, the practices of Theurgy, Hekau, Astro-Theology and Alchemy, and the Hermetic Arts and Sciences. Some Masonic Orders may be authoritarian, patriarchal, and oligarchic, but Freemasonry itself
should be a moral, meritocratic, unitive, social and spiritual practice. We maintain the initiatory traditions and psycho-spiritual practices of the Sacred Mysteries and their Rites within the protective structure of Egyptian Masonry. The first
Three Symbolic Degrees
of the Lodge of Egypt are the Gateway to the
Hidden Sanctuary
beyond.
We are sovereign and independent from any other Masonic tradition, having our own Grand Lodge, although we welcome Visitation to our Lodges. We also have no direct association with Thelema or the OTO.
A Spiritual Community
The EMO UK wishes to act as a friendly, joyous and supportive spiritual community for its Members, and as a positive and progressive spiritual influence for all Humanity. Together we practice spiritual evolution through Initiation to empower ourselves and each other. We work, build and study as an organised collective of all genders, ethnicities, faiths and orientations. In the tumult and toxicity of the world of divisive politics, religious strife and societal tension, we wish to maintain the Way of the Heart - the unifying and harmonising approach to the Esoteric Traditions which brings like-minded and like-hearted people together, through compassion and companionship, rather than further separating and dividing us. We must act through Love and Trust alone. We have no interest in elitism. Although we are not a political organisation or religious institution, we are responsible, humane, and aware: hatred, fear, bigotry and cowardice are inimical to Love. Divinity is Liberty, Light, Truth and Life, but even more than these: LOVE.
A College of the Mysteries
The EMO UK also serves as a College of the Mysteries. The ancient rites of Eleusis, Samothrace, Thebes and Alexandria are legendary. Through our intensive

Curriculum, and through the Transmissions of our
Inner Orders

Esoteric Rites, we perpetuate the traditional and contemporary practice of the
Lesser, Greater
and
Supreme Mysteries, which unfold the
Path
of Spiritual Purification, Revelation, Ascension and Reintegration. The Spiritual Forces of Humanity, Nature and the Cosmos are a
reality
(beyond the assumptions of secular Masons), beyond the Material, but capable of purifying it: they can be better comprehended and wisely employed. We must seek unity, equity, accountability and harmony in all things. We are more than our physical bodies - our Mysteries exalt the Corpus, the Anima
and the Spiritus of the Human Constitution, bringing us back to the Uttermost Truth and the Innermost Light.

Egyptian Masonry
From the many revelations of the Ancient and Primitive Rite, the Rite of Mizraim, the Rite of Memphis, the Ordre du Sagasse, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, the Rite of the African Architects, and the further Masonic discoveries of Joseph Pernety, Count Cagliostro, Raimondo di Sangro, Baron Tschoudy, Marconis de Negre, John Yarker and Robert Ambelain, we derive our Egyptian Masonic Rites. Together, we explore the rich complexities of Egyptian Masonry, and expand upon its cultural and mystical origins in the ancient worlds, languages and cultures of Rome, Greece, Egypt, Sudan, Judaea, West Asia, Northern Africa, and the Levant.
Initiatic Lore
We explore and reveal the mysterious Truths, Keys, Methods and Techniques that perpetuate the occult traditions of the EMO UK, and unfold the Inner Blueprint of the Human Soul. These Order Mysteries are passed to our beloved Masonic Initiates according to the Degree they have attained. Stage by stage, we reveal the unseen mechanisms that lay behind the ritual actions, tangible results, and complex imagery of our Egyptian Masonic Rites and their Arcana, and demonstrate how to activate and utilise them for the good of all Beings.
The Traditions of Ancient Kemet
We explore the ancient religions and magico-religious traditions of Kemet and Kush, the immemorial veneration of Isis, Sekhmet, Ra, Ptah and Amun, the infinite ethereal worlds of the Netjeru, the Mysteries of Sekhet Aaru, Amenti and the Duat, Their Temple culture, and Their High Priesthood; this includes Hekau: the various rituals, spells, incantations and practical techniques they used, and a ritual unfoldment of the various texts such as the Book of the Caverns, to unfold the profound Kemetic understanding of Divinity, Nature, Power, the Soul, and the Spirit.
The Trivium Hermeticum
We continue the ancient practice of the Trivium Hermeticum, which descends to us from the Egyptian traditional teachings of Thoth-Hermes. We skillfully combine the knowledge and practice of the three arcane sciences - Alchemy, the Work of the Body; Theurgy, the Work of the Soul; and Esoteric Astrology, the Work of the Spirit. These three sciences reflect the triplicate nature of our Egyptian Masonic Rite and its eternal commitment to Balance, Harmony and Reconciliation, by the application of the Cosmic Laws of Thoth-Hermes.
The Mysteries of Qabalah
The great revelation of the Hebrew Tradition, the technical and practical Qabalah is indivisible from the structure of our Egyptian Masonic Rites. The divisions of the Degrees of our Order are reflected faithfully in the various manifestations of the Qabalistic Tree of Life, the Ten Sephiroth, and the Four Worlds. The ultimate aim of our form of Egyptian Masonry, in Qabalistic terms, is the Restoration (Tikkun) of the Primal Unity of Humanity (Adam) and the Divine (HaShem), via the Generation of the mysterious Mer-Ka-Ba.
The Path of Gnosis
The Gnostic Tradition has always been present in the higher Degrees of our Egyptian Masonic Rites. The Fall of Sophia into the clutches of the Archons is a perfect analogy for the descent of the Human Soul into the vicissitudes of Incarnation and Suffering on the Rota Fortunae or Wheel of Consequences (Karma, Dharma and Moksha according to the Vedic tradition). Each Degree of our Rite unlocks a "Prison of the Soul", in alignment to works such as the Book of Jeu, and the Apocalypse of John, allowing progressive stages of inner freedom along the Path of Return to the AEONS.
Sacred Geometry
The Grand Geometries of our Egyptian Masonic Rite are the perpetual Keys of the Symbolic, Lesser, Greater and Supreme Mysteries. From the humble perfection of the Cross, formed by the conjunction of the Horizontal and the Vertical, we move through the successively complex levels of Sacred Geometry and its many energetic and mathematical correspondences, unlocking our Human Gifts and Spiritual Potential point by point, angle by angle, and plane by plane.
The Tripartite Constitution
We teach the ancient conception of Human Existence as a tripartite combination of Body, Soul and Spirit, which are bound together by an indivisible chain throughout the process of Incarnation, but whose relationship is affected by our Inner Conditions (revealed by our Astrology), and which require a variety of energetic solutions (Alchemy), psychic-etheric processes (Theurgy), spiritual revelations (Gnosis), and redemptive actions (Good Works), each sharing a common Ethic, but still being different for every Individual Human according to their individiaul nature.
The Lower Psychism
We teach the various arts and techniques of the Lower Psychism. The Lower Psychism includes much of what is commonly termed paranormal, highly strange, supernatural, parapsychological or Fortean in nature. It also includes the study and practice of Psychic Development and Experimentation, explored through the lens of the Egyptian Masonic Art, revealing the Mysteries of the Masonic Dress. Sensitivity, Intuition and Clairvoyance are understood as the unfolding of the Natural Powers of the Mason of Egypt.
Thaumaturgy, Magick & Rootwork
We encourage the academic research and practical study of the magical arts, including Classical Thaumaturgy and Astrurgy, which intersects with the study of the Greek Magical Papyri, as well as the medieval Grimoire tradition, Egyptian Hekau, the Hermetic Sciences, Gnostic Magical traditions, and the various practical techniques of Invocation, Evocation, Ritual Building, and the use of Amulets and Talismans. We also advocate the study of Magical Herbalism, Rootwork, and the Folk Magic tradition which is the perennial basis of our spiritual worldview.
The Higher Psychism
We teach the various arts and techniques of the Higher Psychism, which lies beyond a Mysterious Threshold which every Initiate must cross to gain their advancement. The Higher Psychism is the exclusive purview of Egyptian Masonic Adepts and High Initiates, whose spiritual labour, expanded vision and inward perception allow their Vibrations to rise to the necessary level. It embraces the inner techniques of Advancement, Elevation and Ascension, which culminates in the Liberation and Reintegration of the Human Soul.
Enlightenment and Ascension
The purpose of our Egyptian Masonic Rites and their various Degrees is to activate the Inner Powers and guide the Initiate through the process of gaining Enlightenment and achieving their gradual Ascension. This Ascension is not only psychological and philosophical; it is an elevation of the Vibration of the individual, purging and purifying their Body, Mind and Soul to bring them more in line with their Eternal Spirit. This process has predictable symptoms, measurable effects, and tangible results.
