PYRAMID OF THE ORDER

The archetypal and metaphysical structure of the EMO UK is that of a PYRAMID and TEMPLE of Old Egypt: a hieratic institution of the Lesser, Greater and Supreme Mysteries.

Each of the Mansions of the EMO UK is envisaged as a part of this Ideal Spiritual Form, carrying the aspirations of the Brothers, Sisters and Fellows of the Order upwards through Nature and the Cosmos towards the Divine Source.

The Pyramid-Temple

A perfect Geometric Form, the Pyramid-Temple is a synthesis of the Triangle of Spirit and the Square of Matter, with a stable base on Earth that tapers upwards to the Infinity of Heaven. It houses the Degrees, Halls and Mansions of the EMO UK.

The Sacred Precinct

The Sacred Precinct of the Pyramid-Temple is the Probation Period, which commences immediately whenever an uninitiated person passes the Interview process, fills in the Joining Form and NDA, and is registered as a New Member of the EMO UK.

The Outer Court

The Base, Foundation and Outer Court of the Pyramid-Temple is the Symbolic Lodge of Egypt, which perpetuates the Three Symbolic Degrees of Egyptian Masonry. All EMO UK Regular Lodges, Metropolitan Lodges and Grand Lodges operate at this level. Members gain a secure grounding in the history, symbolism and practice of Freemasonry in general, and of the Egyptian Rite in particular.

The Inner Court

The Inner Court of the Pyramid-Temple is the College of Perfection, which perpetuates the Perfection, Mark Master, Master Elect and Royal Arch Degrees of Egyptian Masonry, up to the 14th Degree. Members study the ethics and morality of Masonry, Sacred Geometry, the Lower Psychism, and the awakening of the Sphere (Aura), and the subtle or psychical senses.

The Sacred Hall

The Sacred Hall of the Pyramid-Temple is the Rose-Croix Chapter, which perpetuates the Transitional and Rosicrucian Degrees of Egyptian Masonry, up to the 18th Degree. Members study the academic resources of the Mystery Traditions, the Egyptian Conception of the Soul, the Power of the LOGOS, the awakening of the Heart, and the regenerative nature of joy, ethics and compassion.

The Priestly Chambers

The Priestly Chambers of the Pyramid-Temple are the Hermetic Senate, which perpetuates the High Celestial Degrees of Egyptian Masonry, up to the 29th Degree. Members study practical Alchemy and Theurgy, Magical Invocation, Energy Works, the Higher Psychism, the strengthening of the Will, and the nature of mental force.

The Holy Assembly

The Holy Assembly of the Pyramid-Temple is the Supreme Council of the Lesser Mysteries, which perpetuates the Ceremonial and Jurisdictional Degrees of Egyptian Masonry, up to the 33rd Degree. Members receive transmission of higher Qabalistic and Alchemical teachings, and work to the awaken the Soul, and the Spiritual senses.

The Inner Sanctum

The Inner Sanctum of the Pyramid-Temple is the Sublime Consistory, which perpetuates the Greater Mysteries of Egyptian Masonry, Hieratic Art and Hermetic Science, up to the 86th Degree. Members rise in spiritual status as Knights, Priests and Sages of Primitive Masonry.

The rulers of the Inner Orders also operate here.

The Apex

The Apex of the Pyramid-Temple is the Hall of the Arcana Arcanorum, of the Council of Sublime Sages, and of the Third Order, which perpetuates the Supreme Mysteries of our Rites and Traditions, up to the 90th Degree. The Arcana Arcanorum and its 3 + 1 Degrees, operates as a separate and secret Rite of its own, with its own Temple.

The Pyramidion

The Pyramidion, or the Ark and Sanctuary, is the Highest Space within the Order, from which the Grand Hierophant and the Grand Council of Sages protect and preserve the sanctity of Egyptian Masonry. The Degrees from the 91st onwards are administrative as well as practical, constituting a form of Spiritual Wardenship. Grand Councillors guard the Nine Cultural Roots of the Order: Egyptian, Greek, Hebraic -African, Persian, Indian - Roman, Norse & Insular Celtic.
