Freemasonry is an ancient and venerable practice, which has spread across the world and unfolded into a variety of types and cultures. Some forms, such as UGLE, are Dogmatic, and others such as ours are Liberal, or Progressive; these terms are not political, but describe the relative interpretations of the Landmarks and Traditions of Masonry. The EMO UK is a Liberal, Progressive, Esoteric, and Egyptian Obedience, which both preserves and practices the Kemetic, Gnostic and Hermetic Transmissions of the Royal Art. Other forms of Masonry do not offer this, because they are not structured in the same way.
Joining us opens the door to the High Mysticism and Deep Magic of Egyptian Rite Masonry.
STEP ONE: INTERVIEW

STAGE 1 is your initial Application via the form on our
Portal Page
or via
email. When we receive this initial information, we will reply to you via email with some more initial questions about your background, interests, and what drew you to apply. If all is well, we progress your Application to Interview. Don't be nervous - we want an Order that's progressive, encouraging and welcoming to everyone who shares the same interests, virtues and values, regardless of who they are or where they come from.
STAGE 2 is your initial Interview, which will usually be held online, but occasionally is held in person. We can meet each other, answer any questions you or we may have, and establish a connection. You may need up to three Interviews if required by the Interview Panel. We will discuss everything, then decide whether to proceed with you Application. You will usually be informed within 2-3 businesss days after the Interview. Don't be too disheartened if you cannot join us - there can be many reasons, and not every Applicant is ready.

STEP TWO: PROBATION
I've joined the EMO UK - what now?
Celebrate! You did it - you applied!
You've taken the first and most important step of your Egyptian Masonic life!
STAGE 3 is your Acceptance, where you join the EMO UK, fill in the Form, sign the NDA, and become a Probationer of the Order; you are added to the system, and given immediate online access to your first teaching materials and introductory lectures - you will need a PC or Laptop. At this point, you pay your Annual Dues and one-time Admin Fee. Our Annual Dues cover
Initiations, Lodge Membership, Study Materials, Tuition & Online Access.
STAGE 4 is your Probation period. You will be able to chat with our Members and ask more questions if you need to; you will also start the spiritual preparations for your Initiation into the First Degree of the Rite. We ask you to be patient for an Initiation Date during your Probation period, as there may be a waiting list of some length for our Lodges. In the meantime, we now offer introductory
Probationers Lessons, which are held once a month by our Master Masons via our private EMO UK Teams. This is a great way to prepare!
STEP THREE: INITIATION
How should I prepare?
You are already preparing, Friend...
During your Probation, you will be give a Certain Set of Exercises. These are to help you to stabilise your concentration and enter an Inner State which will increase the profound effect of your upcoming Initiation. Rad the materials given, practice the exercises we recommend, and come to the online Lessons. The time will come, sooner than you think, when everything will be ready. At this point, you'll have a very good idea of our mission, our values, our style, what we're all about, and what makes us different to
any
other Order.
STAGE 5 is your First Degree Initiation - a powerful peak experience - not only will you formally enter our Order, our Egyptian Masonic Rite, and our Spiritual Community, but you will also enter a new level of knowledge, power, and elevated consciousness.
Have no fear, for fear is failure.
You will pass through the Hidden Door. You will endure the challenges of the Initiation, with your Brethren to support you every step of the way. You will SEE and KNOW.
Then, you will be confirmed as an Apprentice Mason of Egypt. Your
study and
practice of our
Mysteries has only just begun...

Full Membership
FULL MEMBERSHIP - Full Members must obey all Lodge Summonses and attend in person all Lodge Meetings in their Jurisdiction, as well as studying online. The Lodge which initiates them will become their Mother Lodge for the Symbolic Degrees. Lodge Attendance is mandatory.
Full Members are joining non-Masons. They must receive their Initiations and Elevations in person.
Affiliate Membership
AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP - Affiliated Masons must obey all Summonses and attend all Lodge Meetings in their Jurisdiction, as well as studying online. Lodge and Sanctuary Attendance is mandatory.
Affiliate Members are joining Masons; Masons of any Rite are welcome. They may apply for Associate Membership depending on their location.
Associate Membership
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP - Associate Members must only attend in person for their Lodge or Sanctuary Initiations and Elevations, but may otherwise study remotely, and meet online.
Associate Members are new applicants and Affiliating Masons living abroad, outside of an EMO UK Jurisdiction. They must be able to travel to an EMO UK Lodge to receive their Initiations.
THE FIRST DOOR
The FIRST DOOR is the Portal of the Mysteries; the beginning of the journey.
It can be daunting, even frightening, to take that first tentative step towards the Door, towards the Order, and towards the Mysteries. Many doubts and uncertainties may come to mind - is this the right direction for me? Is this the right time, or the right group? Will I find what I'm looking for? Will this be worth the money, time, or effort? Will I be among a positive group of people, or face more toxicity? Can I really commit to this and sustain my efforts?
This First Door, the Threshold of the Mysteries, is mysterious; it seems to increase our sense of unease. We read and reread the information presented, we look at the adverts and interviews, and we research into the history of the Rites and Traditions, but still we cannot find any certainty. Opinions vary and sources conflict.
The First Door is dark and forbidding; but do not be dissuaded. This is part of its purpose. Upon the True Path of the Soul and the Spirit, we must learn to face our fears, approach our challenges with resolve, and find the courage to face and conquer our fears. This inner resilience is a necessity of life regardless of the group we join, or the systems we practice.
You can wait. You can stall. You can always turn away and hope that the First Door might, perhaps, be there when you return. Whatever you do, Life will flow the way it will, and you must live as it flows. Perhaps you will have more time in the future, or perhaps you will not. Perhaps you will find the First Door again, and perhaps you will not find it.
As we say in the Tradition of the Neteru, you must pay your dues to ANUBIS first, for he is the Gatekeeper of the Gods. Fear is failure, and the beginning of failure, but the +GAOTU+ comes not in a spirit of fear and confusion, but in a Spirit of peace, power, love, and a sound mind. If you are genuinely seeking the Ancient and Primitive Mysteries, you must find and face the First Door.
And you must enter in boldly.
