OPENING A MASONIC TRIANGLE

EMO UK supports those Master Masons and interested parties who wish to open a local Masonic Triangle, to kickstart working with us in the Order.

WHAT IS A MASONIC TRIANGLE?

A MASONIC TRIANGLE is like a Start-Up Lodge. It can be formed by as few as THREE Members. Usually a Master Mason of the EMO UK will ask us to start a Triangle in their local area, and invite two or more others to join them. The Grand Representatives will formally open the Triangle, and will be available to guide the Triangle's development. The Triangle has its own special Rituals. A Triangle will remain under formal supervision until it becomes a full Lodge.

THE MOTIVATION

Why start a local EMO UK Triangle?

There are several important reasons why Master Masons, or any interested persons, may choose to assume the responsibility of running an EMO UK certified Triangle in their local area:

- A Master Mason lives too far away for a regular commute to closest EMO UK Lodge

- A group of Masons live in a different country and wish to form a local EMO UK Triangle

- An esotericist, occultist or alchemist is interested in working the Egyptian Rite

- A group of uninitiated enthusiasts wish to be Initiated and continue working together

- A Master Mason wishes to open an EMO UK Triangle for their local community

- A Master Mason wishes to work in a more Mystical, Alchemical, and Esoteric Rite

- A Master Mason wishes to move from Dogmatic to Liberal and Esoteric Freemasonry

- A Master Mason has a group of at least three interested parties and wishes to help them

- A Master Mason has been on Masonic hiatus and wishes to return to the Craft via the EMO UK

- An experienced Mason feels ready to take on Mastery of an EMO UK Triangle, then a Lodge

- An experienced Mason feels they have experience to offer the EMO UK in its works

- A group of Masons working independently wish to regularise with the EMO UK

- Open a Triangle to receive tutorial and curriculum, support, stability and community

A Triangle is a thorough introduction to the practice of our Egyptian Masonic rituals, with minimal regalia or expense

A Triangle can start to study, visit and interact with the other Members of our Order straight away; it only needs a suitable place to meet

THE REQUIREMENTS

What do we need to open a Triangle?

- A private space for Meetings (it must be public but discreet, and not overlooked)

- EMO UK Triangle Certificate

- Device or Laptop for studying rituals or lessons

- A Table for the Meetings

- Blue, Black and White Table Cloths

- Chairs for each Member

- A small White Tealight Lamp

- Three Individual Tealights, or Three White Wax or LED Candles in a Candelabrum

- Three Gavels (optional)

- A Square, Compasses and Ruler

- Miniature of any chosen Netjeru (Egyptian Gods and Goddesses)

- A Volume of Sacred Law (any Holy Book or Text, e.g. the Book of the Dead)

- Jossticks (Frankincense & Myrrh or Dragon's Blood) for Censing (Suffumigation)

- Salted Water in an Aspergillum or Bowl for Sprinkling (Aspersion)

- Masonic Aprons and White Gloves for Officers

- White Aprons for Candidates

TERMS & CONDITIONS

What are the T&Cs for starting a Triangle?

The Applicant for an EMO UK Triangle...

- Must be, or become if interested, a Master Mason and join the EMO UK as a Member

- Must attend an indepth Interview with the Grand Representatives of the EMO UK

- Must demonstrate knowledge of esoteric matters and competency in related practices

- Must have a grounded, compassionate and universalist view of spirituality

- Must have the minimum number of persons for their Triangle (at least two others)

- Must ensure all Members join the EMO UK, sign the NDA, and pay the Annual Dues

- Must be willing to support the growth of the Order according to EMO UK Principles and Values

- Must find a suitable space or location in which to hold EMO UK Meetings (this may be in a

suitable public venue with the necessary security, or an approved private location)

- Must be open to Mutual Visitation according to the Ancient Masonic Landmarks

- Must ensure only loyal, moderate and trustworthy persons are invited to join

- Must discourage the discussion of politics or religion in Meetings

- Must reject or expel anyone exhibiting bigoted, racist, sexist or hateful attitudes

- Must ensure all Members are punctual with Attendance, Annual Due payments, etc.

- Must remain loyal to the EMO UK and obey all Articles, Summons and Decrees of Grand Lodge

- Must ensure general adherence to the conditions of the NDA and the Grand Constitution

- Must agree to pursue the growth of their Triangle or Lodge for a minimum agreed period

- Must consider Egyptian Masonry as a living form of spirituality, to be practiced joyfully
