OPENING A LOCAL LODGE,
JUST LODGE OR TRIANGLE
EMO UK supports those Master Masons and interested parties who wish to open their own local Lodge, Just Lodge or Triangle under the aegis of the Order.
TRIANGLE
A TRIANGLE may be formed by THREE Members: a Master Mason of the Order, and two
Companions or Apprentices. Only the Master Mason will hold an Office, the Triangle having its own special Rites.

JUST LODGE
A JUST LODGE may be formed by FIVE Members: three Master Masons, a Companion, and an
Apprentice. Master Masons must hold the Office of Master and Wardens.

REGULAR LODGE
A
LODGE PROPER, or Regular Lodge, may be formed by a minimum of
SEVEN Members: three Master Masons or more, two Companions and two Apprentices.

Why open a local Triangle or Lodge?
There are several important reasons why a Master Mason and their Brethren or interested companions may choose to assume the responsibility of opening an EMO UK chartered Triangle, Just Lodge or Regular Lodge:
- A Master Mason lives too far away for a regular commute to closest EMO UK Jurisdiction
- A group of Masons live in a different country and wish to form a local EMO UK Jurisdiction
- An esotericist, occultist or alchemist is interested in working the Egyptian Rite
- A group of uninitiated enthusiasts wish to receive Initiation and continue work together
- A Master Mason wishes to open an EMO UK Triangle or Lodge for their local community
- A Master Mason wishes to work in a more mystical, alchemical and esoteric Rite
- A Master Mason wishes to move from Dogmatic Freemasonry to Esoteric Freemasonry
- A Master Mason has a group of at least three interested parties and wishes to help them work and build
- A Master Mason has been on Masonic hiatus and wishes to return to the Craft via the EMO UK
- An experienced Mason feels ready to take on Mastery of an EMO UK Triangle or Lodge
- An experienced Mason feels they have much assistance to offer the EMO UK in its works
- A group of Masons have been working independently, and wish to regularise with the EMO UK to receive tutorial and curricular access, fraternal support, stability and Masonic amity
EMO UK fully supports the continuation and growth of Liberal Esoteric Masonry
We provide a Full Charter for Regular Lodges, and a Probationary Charter for Just Lodges and Triangles with the option of expansion. EMO UK Grand Representatives will Consecrate the Lodge or Triangle before declaring it open.
We provide full online access to the EMO UK Private Websites, Rituals, Curriculum and Lectures of the Symbolic Lodge.
We offer guidance and support to all Members and Officers on correct Memphis-Mizraim Regalia, creating Lodge By-Laws, Interviews and Membership Standards, Tools and Materials, and other Lodge necessities.
We will provide training and guidance in the esoteric mysteries of the Symbolic Lodge to all new Lodge Masters. If the Master Mason applying for an EMO UK Charter has interested parties who are non-initiates, the Grand Master or Representatives of Grand Lodge will arrange the necessary Initiations into the 1st Degree.
Independent Lodges already in existence may apply for Regularisation with the EMO UK.
We are an anglophone Order, so rituals and lessons will usually be in the English language.
To receive a Charter for a Lodge, Just Lodge or Triangle:
The Applicant for Charter...
- Must be a Master Mason (of any Obedience) and become a Member of EMO UK
- Must, if an interested and uninitiated party, become a Master Mason and a Member
- Must attend an indepth Interview with the Grand Representatives of the EMO UK
- Must demonstrate knowledge of esoteric matters and competency in related practices
- Must have the minimum number of persons for their Lodge or Triangle, all of whom must join the EMO UK and sign the NDA
- Must be willing to support the growth of the Order according to EMO UK doctrine, principles and values
- Must find a suitable space or location in which to hold EMO UK Meetings; this may be in a suitable public venue with the necessary security, or a private location
- Must be open to mutual visitation according to ancient Masonic Landmarks
- Must remain loyal to the EMO UK and obey all Articles, Summons and Decrees of Grand Lodge
- Must ensure general adherence to the conditions of the NDA and the Grand Constitution
- Must agree to pursue the growth of their Triangle or Lodge for a minimum agreed period
A successful EMO UK Regular Lodge may apply for Charter for Higher Degrees with the permission of the Grand Master
